The Canadian Para-Climbing Summit brings together athletes, coaches, route setters, classifiers, volunteers and the climbing community for para-climbing development, education, and competition.

Day OneThursday September 17, 2026
Staff of Calgary Climbing Center will participate in a 2-day route-setting workshop. New or aspiring para-climb coaches are invited to attend introductory sessions on para-climbing mindset and para-climbing skills and drills in preparation for the training camp on Friday.
New / aspiring coaches are also invited to shadow part 1 of the training camp with Team Canada coaches and para-climbers where coaches will develop athlete profiles and set goals for the camp and competition.

Team Canada coaches will run a training camp for Canadian para-climbers. It is recommended that anyone who plans to be involved with para-climbing competition attends the classification workshop to get an overview of the classification process, and understand how categories can be merged at competition time.
Throughout the day, new or unclassified para-climbers can meet with Canada’s para-climb classifier to review documentation to prepare for classification. New or aspiring para-coaches are invited to shadow the training camp and 1:1 classification sessions.
Following the training camp, Sport Integrity will run an anti-doping seminar that is open to any Team Canada climbing athlete (para, senior, junior).

Climbing Escalade Canada, Alberta Climbing Association, and Calgary Climbing Centre, Rocky Mountain are teaming up to run a mini para-climbing competition that is open to any one with a disability that falls within the para-climbing classifications. See the CEC website for more information on classifications. This competition is open to new or experienced climbers!
Following the competition, CEC will run volunteer training for anyone who wants to become more involved with adaptive climbing.
To cap off the summit, a community “climb like a para-climber” competition that is open to anyone with or without a disability who would like to try climbing the para-comp routes… with a twist.
